The processed bags are transported from binding centres to the central godowns for storing. More than 800 central godown are located in different parts of Odisha to store the leaves. Lots are formed in bags of 100 and sold through public auction/ tender sales. About 60000 person days are generated in transportation alone involving about Rs 2.2 crores.
The KL related activities like binding, plucking, bush cutting and other NTFP procurement, etc is estimated to contribute approx. 60-70 percent of the total family income of the binders.
